During his tenure at Dubai Hospital and Rashid Hospital, Dr. Latif served for 11 years as Acting Consultant and for 8 years as Head of Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery. In this role, he introduced minimal access thyroidectomy and parathyroid surgery in Dubai and made internationally recognized contributions to scar-free transoral endoscopic thyroid and parathyroid surgery (TOETVA). His work led to the identification and publication of new anatomical guidance landmarks — Amin’s Triangle and the Dubai Triangle — now incorporated into global TOETVA surgical methodology to enhance safety and reduce risk to surrounding structures.
Alongside endocrine surgery, Dr. Latif maintains a comprehensive general surgical practice covering laparoscopic hernia repair, hepatobiliary surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, breast disease, oncological surgery, and emergency surgical care. He has practiced across the UAE, United Kingdom, South Asia, and East & West Africa, including clinical experience at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (UK) and Khartoum Hospital (Sudan). His approach is grounded in minimally invasive techniques that prioritize faster recovery, reduced operative risk, and durable clinical outcomes.
