World Lupus Day (WLD) is sponsored by the World Lupus Federation, a coalition of lupus patient organizations from around the world.WLD serves to rally lupus organizations and people a ected by the disease around the world for a common purpose of bringing greater attention and resources to end the su ering and improve the quality of life for people a ected by lupus. Every day, more than 5 million people worldwide struggle with the debilitating health consequences of lupus.
Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs inside the body). Chronic means that the signs and symptoms tend to last longer than six weeks and often for many years.
Autoimmune means your immune system cannot tell the di erence between these foreign invaders and your body’s healthy tissues (“auto” means “self”) and creates autoantibodies that attack and destroy healthy tissue. These autoantibodies cause inflammation, pain, and damage in various parts of the body.
Here at Valiant Clinic, we aim to manage Lupus with a holistic approach looking after both the physical and mental health of the patient professionally in a relaxing environment. What is always important and necessary, is the cooperation between the patient and the doctor.
