Dr. Christiana is an American trained Hand and Upper extremity Orthopedic Surgeon and specializes in numerous conditions associated with the hand, wrist and elbow. She offers both surgical and non-surgical treatment for the variety of conditions, such as wrist ligament injury, wrist fracture or upper extremities, nerve damage, carpal tunnel or cubital tunnel syndrome, trigger finger/ thumb, tendon damage, hand tumors and rheumatoid arthritis in the hand. Additionally, she specializes in pediatric hand surgery, working with children with musculoskeletal deficiencies (inducing congenital and acquired upper limb deformities). Other areas of expertise include cerebral palsy, branchial plexus and other soft tissue hand abnormalities (including syndactyly, finger hypoplasia and tumors).
Dr. Christiana earned her Medical Degree from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. After graduating, she completed her orthopedic residency at the University of Athens, followed by a fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery at the University of Tampere, Finland, and a fellowship at Christine M. Kleinert Institute, University of Louisville, USA.
Dr. Christiana is a member of many international societies including the American Society for Surgery of the hand (ASSH) and the American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS). She completed a Surgical Leadership Program in Harvard Medical School. She has authored and co-authored numerous publications in peer reviewed journals and a regular speaker at international meetings worldwide. She participated in several research projects including the Hand Transplantation Program at University of Louisville USA.
Prior to joining Valiant Clinic, Dr. Christiana worked in various leading institutions in Cyprus, USA and UAE.
