When Should You See a Nephrologist?

Make an appointment with a Nephrologist if you experience any of the following:

  • Change in urinary function: Getting up at night a few times to urinate, having difficulty to urinate, urine
    is darker than usual, urine that is foamy or bubbly, urine that contains blood
  • Swelling in the body: Water retention and dimpling of the skin after being pressed for few seconds
  • Severe fatigue and weakness
  • Dizziness
  • Unexplained back pain
  • Skin breakouts and itching
  • Ammonia breathe or metallic taste in the mouth
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Feeling cold most of the day
  • Shortness of breath
  • High blood pressure

  • Autoimmune disease
  • Infection
  • Metabolic bone disease
