Dr. Haroon is a British (UK) Board Certified & USA Fellowship trained Consultant Orthopedic & Trauma Surgeon with over two decades of experience in the National Health Service (NHS UK). In addition to his practice in the UAE, he currently practices in London at The Royal free London NHS Trust, The Wellington Hospital & The London Clinic Harley Street.
He completed his Medical Degree at University College London (UCL) School of Medicine. His Doctorate in Orthopedic Surgery was completed at the Royal Free London Hospital. Dr. Haroon is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, UK. Postgraduate fellowship training was completed in Baltimore, Maryland USA. In addition to his extensive clinical roles he has an academic appointment as Honorary Senior Lecturer at UCL Medical School London, UK.
Dr. Haroon’s expertise and special interests include all aspects of adult and pediatric orthopedic lower limb, knee, foot and ankle disorders. He has been extensively trained in the reconstruction of arthritic knee and ankle joints and minimally invasive procedures of the knee, ankle and foot. His particular interests include treatment of sports & dance related injuries in elite athletes, forefoot disorders, ankle instability ligament and tendon repair, pediatric and adult flatfoot disorders and cartilage repair techniques. He has an interest in cartilage repair, cellular therapy and regenerative medicine in lower limb and sports related injuries.
Dr. Haroon has an academic research team in the UK looking at the role of stem cells and soft tissue healing in the lower limb. He has written a number of articles, academic papers, book chapters and publications on the treatment and management of bleeding disorders, affecting the knee, foot and ankle.
